CROP Walk 2009
Saturday, October 31, 2009 - 11:12 - cpcadmin
A cold, rainy Sunday
afternoon - after 17 years of sunshine; how fortunate we have been over all
those years - this year we had a bit of a weather challenge. That, however, did
not deter the kids and adults from CPC and other churches from pursuing the
goal to support hungry people in the US and in developing countries
throughout the world.

Registration
begins!
In our congregation we offered an
“in-house” walk, as well as the traditional 6 mile walk through the Kendall Park community.
Many of the kids opted for the
“full walk” through Kendall
Park and environs, but
others decided on the “symbolic” walk inside the church building, which
provided a less cold, rainy environment.
And no matter the weather,
there was great participation
This great cause is not predicated
on “miles walked” or “inside miles walked in the octagon,” but, rather, the
commitment of kids and adults to help other people in need, particularly those
for whom hunger is an on-going issue.
A
smile and some fortification
Our congregation donated $1026, as
always extremely generous in supporting this outreach endeavor by our teens and
children (and adults, too) on behalf of those who hunger. Our 50th
Anniversary stresses that we respond to “Those Who Hunger — Mind, Body, and Spirit”
so the CROP Walk was especially
meaningful in this, our 50 year celebration.
As a result of the generosity of
the church family, each kid earned a “share” of $85.50 for CROP in addition to the pledges they collected from parents,
grandparents, neighbors, and friends.
Families worked together…

and some
other special folks did too…

We applaud the kids who
committed themselves to walking for CROP
and the congregation who committed to supporting CROP (and our kids) financially. Thank you for being such caring
people.
