New Life at Sand Hill PreSchool
The farmer came in to the
preschool on Wednesday January 18th and brought us eggs to hatch.
The children spent time discussing the life of chicks with their teachers.
The Quiver Farm farmers, Eric and Zack spoke to the children and they learned
many interesting facts and new vocabulary such as: spur claw, heckle
feathers, comb, waddle, incubator, brooder box and egg tender. The children
have been watching the eggs carefully over the past few days. We learned
that the chicks will peep even inside of the egg! Nine chicks have hatched and are
in Mrs. Occhipinti’s office! The farmer will come Friday to pick
them up.
