Hospitality
Hospitality is one of those
words that means so many things like; welcoming, kindness, generosity, warmth,
etc. and those things are certainly involved in what we do. However, in
practical terms, what we do and how you can be involved can be described more
specifically.
- Our committee like so many others is about building
community between all of us. Hospitality is what you see from the moment
you enter church. We’re responsible for those who welcome and greet you
as well as the Ushers.
- We’re responsible for coordinating activities that
bring us together so we can get to know one another better. These include
things like movie nights, fellowship dinner, scrambled 6 dinner parties (look
for what this is in the Sandpiper), picnic’s etc. All are geared to help
us build community with one another.
- Lastly, we’re not only responsible for new
member/inquirers classes but finding ways to help ensure that each person
within our church community, member as well as non-member, has the opportunity
to be nurtured and connected to others within the church.
Goals for 2009-2010
- Coordinate / Host 4 to 6 Fellowship dinners (I.e. Square dance, 40’s night, talent
night, comedy night (movie), etc.
- Develop membership program (including friendship pad)
- Increase and Coordinate scramble 6 to 8dinners
- Enhance the welcome / greeters / ushers program
